Dahi Vada - Thayir Vadai

DAHI VADA Thayir Vadai



Make udad vadas as usual.
Put the vadas in hot water for a while (5 to 8 minutes)
Absorb the excess water with tissue papers.
Add these vadas in dahi and do the garnishing.

(Some people put the vadas in the dahi immediately after taking it out from frying pan / Vaanali.)

Add Kathumalli leaves and we serve it either as it is or refrigerated.

Method - 2

Make Vadais as usual.
Put the vadais in hot water to make it softer and fluffier.

Then add these vadais to thayir to which salt and milagai powder have already been added.

Put Kothamalli leaves and refrigerate the vadais. A few hours later, eat the most delicious thayir vadais.

Suggestions from Arun

For varied taste add sugar along with salt to the curd.

Top the thair vada with grated carrots, tamrind chutney or mint chutney and some om pudi, along with the coriander leaves.

For the south indian version garnish the curds with a Thalipu of curry leaves, kadugu, ginger, finely chopped green chillies, and coriander leaves.
